FAMC Recognizes Jeremiah Oatsvall as Tradition of Service Award Winner

Franklin, Tenn. (January, 2017) – Jeremiah Oatsvall, a senior from Brentwood Academy, has been named the recipient of the Franklin American Mortgage Tradition of Service Award. The award is part of the Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl’s community outreach, and is given to the Middle Tennessee high school athlete who best exemplifies both athletic and academic excellence. Oatsvall, age 18, was recognized at the Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl Coaches Luncheon on Dec. 29.

Oatsvall was a four-year varsity letterman and three-year starter at quarterback, leading Brentwood Academy to state championships in 2015 and 2016. He was awarded MVP honors in both games. Additionally, he was named to the 2014-16 All Mid-State Teams, as well as to the 2014-16 Division II-AA All-Middle/East Region Team. He was the 2015 Tennessean Male Athlete of the Year, and is a finalist for the 2016 award.

Maintaining a 3.40 GPA, Oatsvall made the Head Master’s List at Brentwood Academy. However, his leadership is not just limited to school – he is a leader in his community as well. He is active in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes; the non-profit 147 Million Orphans which provides food, water, medicine, and shelter to children in need; and is an active member of Hillcrest Community Church, where his dad is the pastor. He has verbally committed to play quarterback at Austin Peay State University next fall.
